<p>Hi Sarah & Stephen,
Long time no hear! too long! But I know how all the distractions of life can one from the important things. It's always happening. Be we so often wonder how you are, and how life is happening with the Tudors - remembering some of the earlier "travelogs". What's new with us? M-E got invited to a "Sacred Harp" singing event which introduced her to early American "shape note singing" among the earliest forms of singing in America, largely the efforts of the churches, beginning, oddly enough in New England, before being taken up by the American south. Then M-E invited me to a potluck dinner and DVD presentation of the Sacred Harp (which, by the way is the human voice), and I went. Well, next thing is they're having a Sacred Harp school (it isn't easy to learn to sing by shape notes in MY estimation, but maybe that's because of my age...you know,...29 year old stuck inside a 71 year old body. But I'm trying. Oct. 16th begins a Sacred Harp "conference" when shape noters from all over the country come to sing for two or three days straight, with only breaks for food (the magic lure!) We'll be hosting a few sleep overs that weekend.. Might be interesting to teach the congregation to sing shape notes. Since all the songs they sing are grounded in theology, it would be very appropriate.
So what's new with you???
Hope you look at your incoming comments!
God bless you
with grace upon grace
