Wallpaper and Wallpaint

Last year Stephen bought me a book of postcards of William Morris Wallpaper designs. For a while now I’ve been painting a gold metallic paint version (outline only) in our blue foyer. It has taken a long time and I changed it from a copy in color to a washy background with line drawing on top..my version somehow was looking tacky…too free-flowy and hawaiian shirt-ish. This is the beautiful postcard I was looking at:
