Cotton Anniversary

That’s right folks, Stephen and I celebrated our second anniversary on August 6th, and we were very impressed at how many friends remembered (even sent us cards! holy cow!)

So being the traditionalist that I am, (on certain matters like wardrobe and anniversaries, not necessarily matters of decorating or education) I set up the rather silly constraint for myself of the traditional wedding gifts of old…this year’s gift, was of course, cotton. Cotton…balls, polo shirts, tighty whities…none of these evoke romance for me. So when a friend pointed to the hammock chair dangling from the ceiling of the store ten thousand villages, I knew I had found the perfect gift. Romantic…if not in practice (I don’t think we’ll both fit) then certainly in spirit. I checked the label…YES…100% cotton. Our hammock is white, but not tight.

Stephen took me out for a super tasty meal at the High Street Cafe…mmm…escargot. Casanova also brought home a huge bouquet of swirly coral and red roses. (swoon here)

It has been quite a year, and not a day goes by that I am not completely grateful that this man chose me to be his wife and friend. He is so deep, so brilliant and so much fun, so grounded in his faith…I couldn’t have imagined someone more wonderful…thankfully God did all that for me. Happy Anniversary Honey.
